This chapter deals with the analysis of the Internet from the point of view of the offer.
The first part of the chapter focuses on the structure of the offer in the first three layers of our LIIF framework, Infrastructure, Access and IT, taking up a McKinsey study.
In the second part, however, we will analyze some distinctive phenomena of the Internet supply side such as the phenomenon of the startup explosion, mainly concentrated in the remaining two layers of the model, namely the Intermediary and the Content layer. In addition, two important types of Internet platforms will be analyzed on the supply side: the Search Platform and the Publishing Platform.
