In this chapter we will focus on business models that we find in the Internet markets trying to identify the models used today by companies doing business thanks to online in the IT , Intermediary and Content layers of our framework LIIF.
In 1998 for the first time there was talk of Classification of Business Model for e-commerce and from there developed a body of literature about the Internet business model. Since 1998 and in subsequent years it was understood how the various theories regarding the classification of Business Model (typological classifications) were too specific and that on the contrary to be universally accepted and applied especially there was a need for a more general classification (taxonomy) of Business Model.
Also in this case there is not a universally accepted taxonomy of the business model, and also on the very concept of busieness model there is a definition or a framework universamente shared.
To give the reader a good overview of the existing models on the Internet, we first analyzed the existing literature and then on the basis of the conclusions we have reached, we have developed a own classification.
